Kesari is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language film directed by Anurag Singh. It is based on the Battle of Saragarhi a brave battle fought between 21 Sikh soilders and 10000 Afghanistan infader in 1897.and stars Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra in the lead roles.

Principal photography began in January 2018 and the film is scheduled for release sometime in 2019.

We Say: Did you know? Salman wanted to back this film but pulled out when he realised how slow the shoot would be; Akshay wanted Karan Johar to release the film for Independence Day, but Johar has another release due then; Lastly Akshay had a bad back breaking accident on the final climax of the film so had to recover to finish the shoot. One wonders if there could be too many bad luck moments for a film to fly, but we wish him all the success with his classy portrayals of Sikh characters in previous films.
