You have all heard of Jhansi ki rani, now we can finally WATCH the story of Rani Lakshmibai, one of the leading figures of the Indian Rebellion of 1857 and her resistance to the British Raj.

Interesting Fact: During a sword fight scene between Kangana Ranaut and Nihar Pandya the timing went wrong and the sword hit Kanagana’s head between her eyebrows injuring her grievously where she was later taken to hospital for 15 stitches. It makes you wonder why Kangana opted against a body double for the stunt, but I guess the role demanded her bravest approach.

Richard Attenborough was planning to make the film in Hollywood with Hema Malini in 1991. Then years later Aishwarya Rai was to do the film with another producer
